When are you open?
Swane’s Nurseries are open every day of the year apart from Christmas day! Our opening hours Monday to Friday are 7:30-5:00. Saturday and Sunday we are open 8:30-5:00. These hours apply to both our Dural and Carlingford stores.
What is Garden Rewards?
Garden Rewards is Swane’s Nurseries loyalty program. It is free to join online via the Garden Rewards page or instore. Members receive 1 reward point per dollar spent. Accrue 400 points and those loyalty points are then redeemable for a $20 Rewards discount. * does not include GST or shipping.
Do I get Garden Rewards Points for online orders?
Yes, all online sales accrue Garden Points as per Swanes Terms & Conditions
Do you have a newsletter?
Yes, we send emails to our Garden Rewards members with information about upcoming events, specials, tips and tricks on plant care as well as free offers. Sign up to these using the form on our Garden Rewards page.
What is a Winter Rose?
Swane's Winter Roses are field grown budded roses, shipped when dormant. Winter Roses are leafless and without soil so are easy and economical to purchase and ship around Australia. They are typically available in winter.
Number of stems and caliper size varies considerably from variety to variety. Variation also is evident season to season depending on weather. Size has no relation to the plant's performance as long as the planting methods we advocate are followed.
Typically, leaves should emerge from the plant within 8 weeks of planting. Winter Roses flower the first Spring after planting.
When are Winter Roses available?
Pre-orders are taken from January each year, with plants harvested for shipping or pick-up from June through to July. Important: Winter roses purchased before these dates are pre-orders and are not available for pickup or delivery until June at the earliest.
What is a Standard Rose?
Sometimes called ‘Tree Roses’, these plants are grafted/budded on to a long rose stem. Standard roses are a variation of a bush rose, with their height making them a great feature for either side of an entrance, or in a formal garden. Swane's Standard Roses are available in 2 heights: 80-90cm clear stems 50-60cm clear stems (Patio Standard). All Standard roses require support staking from below the roots to above the graft. *stakes are not included with winter rose purchases
What is a Patio Standard Rose?
A Swane's Patio Standard Rose is a Standard Rose (see standard roses above) with a clear stem of 50-60cm. They are also called Mini Standard roses.
How do you send Winter Roses?
Bare root or Winter Roses are sent by Australia Post for all orders of Bush Roses with up to 10 roses to a box. Any order with at least one Standard Rose will be dispatched with a courier service.
How do I plant a Winter Rose?

Can Swane’s help me find/ identify a rose?

Can Swane's help me name a rose for someone special?
Yes, Swane's offers a custom rose service, in which a Swane's premium rose is re-badged especially for you. A custom-made rose label is designed, and roses can be picked up or shipped to most Australian addresses. How do I use the checkout?
If you have any issue at all shopping on Swane's website, please contact us, and we will be able to help you or take your order over the phone.
Do I need a Paypal Account?
No, a credit or debit card can be used without having a Paypal Account. Simply continue through the checkout as a guest and enter your card details when prompted. Swane's does NOT charge a surcharge fee for payments made via PayPal, VISA, MasterCard or AMEX.
How much does delivery cost?
Plants in 200mm pots:
5 or more, postage is $12 per plant
2 - 4, postage is $14 per plant
1, postage is $18
Plants in 140mm pots:
5 or more, postage is $8 per plant
2 - 4, postage is $10 per plant
1, postage is $14
Specialty Items marked as "Click & Collect" may be sent with a Courier Service, Contact us for a Quote.
Where possible, Swane's will combine delivery of different pot size items and refund a portion of the freight component once your order has processed through the Checkout.
How long does delivery take?
Shipping time does change per order. We ship using Australia post and supply a tracking number upon posting. Orders generally arrive within 5-7 days. Larger deliveries are shipped with a courier and delivery times can vary.
Can I cancel my order?
Of course. Simply Contact us with your order and contact details.
Can I add on to/ alter my order?
Absolutely. As long as changes are made prior to shipping, we are happy to help. It is best to organise these changes over the phone so Contact us.
I received an incorrect item or am missing part of my order- what do I do?
Contact us and we will do what we can to remedy the situation.
Can someone else pick up my order on my behalf?
Yes. Just ensure they have your name and the order number and confirmation to present to staff in store.
Why aren’t some items able to be posted?
Generally, size. Some items are too big, heavy or expensive to post and have therefore been marked as pick-up only or ‘click and collect’.
Can I order a Gift Card online?
Yes. Posted Gift Cards are available for purchase online as well as Digital ones.
What is a Swane's Digital Gift Card?
A Swanes Digital Gift Card is received by the recipient as an email. A unique code is attached which can be used at Swanes online store, or at Swanes Nurseries: Dural and Carlingford.
Can I use a Garden Rewards Gift Card Online?
Yes, if you have been given a Garden Rewards Gift Card (not a digital gift card) you may use it to purchase products on the Swanes Online Shop and we will issue a refund depending on your available membership point balance.
However, for a smooth transaction it is best to Contact Us as your sale needs to be processed in a different manner to the online checkout. So, pre-shop the website, make note of your selections then give the team a call Mon - Fri 8:30 - 4:30 to process the purchase using your gift card.
