Bay Leaf - Laurus nobilis
A slow-growing, small, evergreen tree with aromatic, leathery, glossy green leaves. Small star shaped flowers in spring are followed by black berries.
Fresh or dried leaves are used to flavour casseroles, stews and soups. Ideal feature plant for herb gardens and large tubs.
Grows best in open, sunny position in moist, well drained soil. Grows to 12m by 10m.
