Governor Marie Bashir Winter Rose
Swane's Nurseries 'Governor Marie Bashir' Rose is named in honour of The Honourable Dame Marie Bashir, former Governor of NSW and a patron of the NSW Rose Society for many years. This soft pink rose with a coral centre and delicate fragrance has proven to be an excellent performer, complete with glossy healthy foliage and perfectly formed blooms. Most roses are bred outside of Australia, however this incredible rose was bred by Brisbane rose breeder Paul Hains. This a truly Australian rose, for a truly inspirational Australian. Royalties from sales of the Governor Marie Bashir rose are donated to the Wayside Chapel in Sydney, of which Dame Marie is patron.
